About

Duo Altiler is a Belgian violin-piano duo featuring Veronique De Raedemaeker and Alexander Declercq.

‘Altiler’ recalls the tradition of gathering under the linden tree. It also refers to the location where Alexander and Veronique first met, on the street ‘An der Linde’ at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, where they began playing music together.

They have performed at the Klara Festival Brussels, Festival van Kortrijk and Iedereen Klassiek at the Concertgebouw Brugge.

In 2023, they performed L. van Beethoven's triple concerto in a packed Elisabethzaal in Antwerp as a benefit for Mercy Ships. As Radio Klara's ‘Twintigers’, they were praised in 2024 for their contribution to ‘Iedereen klassiek’ in the Concertgebouw Brugge with the program ‘Tango and a Madhouse’.

In 2025, they won the Supernova competition organised by Radio Klara and received the audience award.

Currently, Duo Altiler follows the chamber music course at the Orpheus Institute Ghent and KSKA Amsterdam. They worked on repertoire with Robert Kulek, Paulo Álvares, David Quiggle, José Luis Estelles & Amy Norrington.

An electrifying intensity! That’s how we remember the concert in Klara’s Studio Toots by the “Twintigers” Alexander Declercq and Veronique De Raedemaeker.

Concertgebouw Brugge, 2024

Duo Altiler seems to have received a permanent subscription to Klankdomein. Every year they are part of the lineup, and each time they continue to amaze us with such musical joy. This time it was with a short piece by Jan Van der Roost, followed by a very extensive Poëma by Henry Sarly. A true discovery: rich harmony, well-developed broad arcs, virtuosity, and a musical narrative that grips you.
Veronique De Raedemaeker and Alexander Declercq played with seriousness, bravura, and artistic conviction. They were rewarded with enthusiastic applause from a grateful audience.
